‘We dropped the ball’. Ramokgopa bemoans latest bout of load shedding after stable period

This past week Eskom “dropped the ball” when unplanned outages shot up to over 17 000MW, Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa said on Sunday. Ramokgopa was providing an update on the government’s Energy Action Plan. 

In the period from 30 October to 3 November this year, Eskom’s Unplanned Capability Loss Factor (UCLF) stood at 17 033MW when 11 units went out of service, prompting renewed daytime load shedding.
